Taifa Stars rise in FIFA rankings.
This is the second consecutive massive leap by Taifa Stars, who moved nine places up in the June rankings.
Taifa Stars continue their steady rise in the world football governing body, FIFA, rankings after rising seven places in this month’s edition.
The latest ranking released on Thursday in Zurich by FIFA has seen Tanzania climb to 106th position after ranking up 287 points. Taifa Stars are 29th in Africa, scaling four places up from 33rd position they held last month.
This is the second consecutive massive leap by Taifa Stars, who moved nine places up in the June rankings. Taifa Stars’ opponents in the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier Mozambique climbed four places to rest in 114th position with 257 points.
If the Taifa Stars continue to develop at the current rate then returning to two digits in the rankings is certainly a realistic short-term aim.
