Koops: AFC Leopards’ players behind team’s poor show
The Dutch tactician believes lack of commitment from players’ is to blame for Ingwe’s poor performance in league and says things will not change soon.
Former AFC Leopards’ head coach Jan Koops believes lack of commitment from players’ is to blame for team’s poor performance in the league.
Koops has accused some players in the team of being only concerned about what they earn instead of giving their best on the pitch.
“I was there and understand the mentality of some of the players. The biggest problem is a lack of commitment and too much focus on what they earn instead of giving their best on the pitch,” Koops told Goal.
He added: “This is why a player like Allan Wanga will really be missed. He showed a high level of commitment while at the club and this is not there with a good number of those remaining there.”
AFC Leopards’ have gone four matches without registering victory a move that forced angry fans to storm the pitch and ask for answers after they lost to Mathare United on Sunday.
Chairman Allan Kasavuli also convened a meeting on Monday night to discuss the same attended by club’s organizing secretary Timothy Lilumbi, team captain James Situma, coach Pieter De Jong and his assistant Abdallah Juma.
