Fresh from winning the East Africa Millitary games, Ulinzi Stars coach Robert Matano has said the team is motivated enough to do well in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).It was Matano’s first trophy with the soldiers since he joined the team three months ago taking over from Salim Ali who resigned.
“We deserved to win this tournament. The boys really gave it their best shot and hope we can replicate the same performance in the KPL,” he told Goal.
Matano further said he hopes top striker Stephen Waruru will continue to do well. The Ulinzi man was named best player in the competition apart from emerging top scorer.
“He gave a good account of himself and we hope to see the same form in the KPL.”
