The Colombia international insists his side must take all three points from their first Champions League encounter against Basel on Tuesday.
The European champions have won just one of their opening five competitive matches of the campaign, most recently losing 2-1 to local rivals Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Rodriguez insists he is not worried about his side's poor start to the season, but stresses they must beat the Swiss club in Madrid on Tuesday.
"You have to play hard and start winning in the Champions League," he told reporters. "We have a great opportunity to win and set everything right.
"Things develop day by day and you can't look back. We have to win tomorrow.
"We started badly, but we have the players to get out of this situation. It's just the start. It will be a tough match.
"They have good players but we will go out to win, be strong and push them out. We are at home and we must respect that.
"We had no luck against Atlético de Madrid [on Saturday]. We had clear chances to score but we didn't do it. We must improve on that."
