Holders Real Madrid chased away some of their early-season blues when
Gareth Bale scored the pick of the goals, as the record 10-time winners
routed FC Basle 5-1 in their Champions League Group B opener on Tuesday.
Liverpool struggled to a 2-1 win against Ludogorets while Arsenal were
rattled by Borussia Dortmund.
The BBC Show – Bale, Benzema and Cristiano - was in full swing as the
defending European champions easily dispatched FC Basle in their opening
group-stage match played at the Bernabéu. The three scored a goal each
with the other two coming from Marek Suchy (own goal) and James
Rodríguez to complete a 5-1 victory.
