Hooliganism: AFC Leopards’ to play behind closed door.

A top FKF official reveals to Goal that Ingwe will play remaining matches without fans and pay heavy fine following crowd trouble against Sofapaka.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is expected to take strong action against AFC Leopards’ over crowd trouble that occurred during Monday's GOtv shield semi-final against Sofapaka at City Stadium.
A highly placed official in the federation has exclusively revealed to Goal that Ingwe will be forced to play their remaining league matches without fans.
The official, who asked not to be named until a statement is issued said: “We take great exception to this barbaric action by fans and have planned to hold a meeting at noon during which we will issue various sanctions among then requiring the club to play behind closed doors.
"We want to send a strong warning that hooliganism will not be tolerated. Leopards will also have to pay for any damages incurred as a result of what happened."
The source said the club should also be required to pay for medical expenses incurred by center referee Davies Omweno who was beaten up by fans and seriously injured.
Leopards fans went on the rampage against Sofapaka causing a lot of damage after Antony Ndolo scored the second goal for Batoto ba Mungu, who were leading 2-0 at the time of abandonment.
Sofapaka will now take on National Super League side Posta Rangers in final of the competition, whose ticket guarantees automatic participation in continental football - Caf Confederation Cup.
Rangers eliminated West Kenya 10-9 on post match penalties.
AFC Leopards’ are yet to play Chemelil Sugar at Moi Stadium Kisumu on October 26, Sofapaka at Nyayo Stadium on November 2 and Bandari in Mombasa on November 8.
