Origi hints at Harambee Stars’ retirement.

Origi hints at Harambee Stars’ retirement

Norway-based custodian Arnold Origi has revealed he might be forced to hang gloves so as to pave way for upcoming players' to do the job.

Kenya number one goalkeeper Arnold Origi has hinted at a possible retirement from national team.
In a post on his facebook page, Origi also praised new call-up Mathare United goalkeeper Robert Mboya and said perhaps it is time to pave way for the youngster.
He posted: "Maybe the time to step down is here because the replacement is ready. Congratulations to Robert Mboya on your first national team call-up. Same path. Pelico-United-Harambee Stars.”
Mboya is among 31 players who were called up on Thursday for October 13 international build-up against Morocco in Marrakech. Mboya will fight it out for starting slot against experienced goalkeepers - Jerim Onyango (Gor Mahia) and Wilson Obungu (Bandari).
Origi has missed last two matches involving Harambee Stars due to club commitments. He now enjoys more playing time at Norwegian top side Lillestrom.
Apart from Mboya, coach Bobby Williamson handed several players maiden call ups. They include Clifford Alwanga (Tusker), goalkeeper Samuel Odhiambo (Tusker), Anthony Ndolo (Sofapaka), Anthony Nding’u (Livberty Academy), Athman Buki (Tusker), Victor Ndinya of Bandari and National Super League side West Sugar’s Nelson Simwa.
Skipper Victor Wanyama of English Premier League side Southampton returns for the first time since 1-0 defeat to minnows Lesotho in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played in Nairobi.
However, there is no place for talisman Dennis Oliech and Parma midfielder MacDonald Mariga but Allan Wanga, who signed for Sudan giants El-Merreikh is also enlisted alongside Belgium-based Ayub Timbe.
