Gor Mahia striker Dan Sserunkuma is biggest omission from Uganda Cranes squad named for upcoming Afcon match against Ghana's Black Stars.
Kenya may not have qualified for the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier but four players taking part in Kenyan Premier League will be involved in Uganda Cranes campaign.Uganda Cranes coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojovic has named his squad to start preparations for the match against Ghana next month and in it has included Gor Mahia’s duo of Godfrey Walusimbi and Geoffrey Kizito as well as Tusker’s Martin Kiiza and Khalid Aucho.
The biggest omission from the squad is Gor Mahia striker Dan Sserunkuma who is currently the leading goal scorer in KPL after netting nine times.
Other top players overlooked by the Serbian are Emmanuel Okwi (Young Africans, Tanzania) and mid fielder Joseph Ochaya (Asante Kotoko, Ghana).
The Cranes squad start training on Monday and will play Ghana on September 6 in Kumasi. Four days later they face Guinea at Nelson Mandela National stadium, Namboole in Kampala.
