Reports this week had suggested a possible swap deal involving the 23-year-old and the Spaniard, but Renzo Contratto does not think it likely that his client will move to England.
There is no chance of Mattia Destro moving to Chelsea this summer unless Fernando Torres is sold, according to the Roma striker's agent.
Reports this week have suggested that Roma are in talks with the Blues
over a swap deal involving the two strikers, with Torres now third in
the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the summer arrivals of
Diego Costa and Didier Drogba.
"If Chelsea sell Torres, maybe it’s possible they make an offer for Mattia," he told Goal. "Otherwise no [a deal cannot happen]."
"Chelsea is one of the top clubs in the world so any player would like to play for them, but I think it’s a very difficult transfer."
Torres has been a huge disappointment at Chelsea since arriving in a £50 million deal from Liverpool in January 2011, scoring just 49 goals in 172 appearances in all competitions.
Goal revealed in June that Jose Mourinho had informed the Spaniard that he has no long-term future at Stamford Bridge, but the 30-year-old is happy to see out the final two years of his £160,000-a-week contract.
In any case, Contratto insists Destro is focused solely on Roma despite the speculation surrounding his future.
When asked about his client's frame of mind, he replied: "Mattia would prefer to stay in Rome to play in the Champions League and Serie A this season."
